Established in 1974 at St. Johns River Community College, Florida School of the Arts (Florida's first state-supported professional arts school) is dedicated to the premise that intense, individualized instruction and practical "hands-on" experience are essential to the full development of a student's creative abilities.
As part of Florida’s higher education system, Florida School of the Arts provides comprehensive artistic training in the visual or performing arts enabling the student to acquire the appreciation, knowledge, and skills required for entry-level employment in the arts. As professionals-in-training, students are expected to adhere to high standards of academic excellence and professionalism as they complete the Associate in Arts and/or Associate in Science Degree programs.
Florida School of the Arts is located on the Palatka Campus of St. Johns River Community College and is part of the academic and administrative structure of that fully accredited institution. Florida School of the Arts is statewide in scope, and has its own facilities, faculty, administrative staff, and curricula specific to each degree program. more >>
